I’m the photographer behind Photos by Elysia Janae, a Houston newborn photographer specializing in in-home mobile studio newborn photography throughout Houston and surrounding areas. I bring the professional photography experience directly to your home, creating a comfortable, relaxed setting where your baby can be photographed in a familiar environment without the need to travel to a traditional studio.

Newborn photography is my main specialty and something that means so much to me personally. Before anything else, I’m a mom. My daughter recently graduated high school, and watching her grow up has made me realize even more how quickly these seasons of life pass. As a young single mom, I wanted to hold onto every little moment—the tiny details, everyday expressions, and memories that seemed ordinary at the time but became some of the moments I treasure most. That desire to preserve memories is what first sparked my love for photography and continues to inspire the way I photograph families today.

I’ve specialized in newborn photography for more than 10 years and have worked full-time in the photography industry for over 6 years. Over the years, I’ve learned that newborn photography is about so much more than beautiful images. It’s about creating a calm, baby-led experience where there is time for feeding, soothing, cuddling, and breaks while keeping your baby’s safety and comfort a priority.

My mobile studio allows me to bring the lighting, posing equipment, wraps, props, and accessories needed to create beautifully styled newborn portraits right in your home. Whether we’re capturing your baby’s tiny details, the connection between parents and baby, or your growing family, my goal is to create photographs that allow you to remember exactly how this season felt for years to come.

While newborn photography is my primary focus, I also photograph Houston high school seniors during the fall and spring seasons. I love creating personalized senior portrait sessions that capture each senior’s personality, confidence, and individuality while making the experience just as meaningful as the photographs. I believe your photographs deserve more than a place on a phone or computer, which is why I also offer heirloom albums, framed artwork, wall art, and keepsakes designed to help you enjoy and preserve your memories for generations.

Photography has also given me the opportunity to share what I’ve learned with other photographers through EJP Education, where I offer newborn photography workshops and one-on-one mentoring focused on hands-on newborn skills, safety, posing, wrapping, lighting, client experience, workflow, and the business side of photography.

When I’m not photographing newborns and seniors or working behind the scenes, you’ll probably find me spending time with my daughter, crafting with my Cricut, enjoying tacos and sweet tea, or caring for animals. I’m a huge animal lover and have been known to feed stray animals and look for ways to give back to my community.

Photography has allowed me to build a business around the things I value most—family, memories, creativity, and helping others.
